About Tom Schmitz
I am a Public Defender who resides in Rolla, Missouri. I received my Bacherlor's Degree in Psychological Sciences from the University of Missouri, Columbia in 2008. I went on to receive my Juris Doctor from Creighton University School of Law in 2012.
While in law school, I was an intern with the Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies, United States Department of Defense. In addition, I was an intern with the Omaha City Prosecutor's Office. After graduation, I worked as a Staff Attorney for Hudson Legal/DTI Global from 2012-2015. I was an Associate Attorney for Albert Watkins from 2015-2017. I was an Associate Attorney for Charles Barberio from 2017-2019. I joined the Missouri Public Defender's Office in Rolla in the spring of 2019.
I am a Christian and I attend Vineyard Church in Rolla.
My main hobby is music, and I enjoy playing drums, playing guitar, singing, and composing. My favorite bands are the Beach Boys and Silverchair, and my favorite composer is Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
My wonderful girlfriend Ashtyn and I often revolve our lives around our beloved pooch, Bebe.
